As previously reported, the feature film Cage, made as the final project of the intensive directing course Filmmaking from A to Z, was selected to compete at Baku International Film Festival. The film was screened on October 4 at the Nizami Cinema Center, alongside three other films of the same category. Following the screening, a discussion was held with a film crew. Ilaha Nurullayeva, Shahin Huseynli, Farid Ayvazov, Saadat Gurbanov, and Mirtalib Hasanov engaged with the audience and the moderator, responding to questions after screening of the film which was directed by ten authors.
On October 8, during the awards ceremony, “The cage” was honored with the “Special Prize of the Jury.” The award was presented by Nariman Mammadov, CEO of Narimanfilm company.
It should be noted that Mirbala Salimli, the trainer for the project, is also the a head teacher of the short feature film. The theoretical phase of the project took place over two months in Baku, while practical shooting was conducted in the ten-day Shaki city stage. The cast included Farid Ayvazov, Murad Allahverdi, Ruhulla Rahimov, Brilyant Babayeva, Rahim Gojayev, and Parviz Ismayilov in key roles. The film was directed by Murad Allahverdi, Ruhulla Rahimov, Farid Ayvazov, Sevinj Guliyeva, Saadat Gurbanova, Sarkhan Naciyev, Mirtalib Hasanov, Ilaha Nurullayeva, Tural Alasgarli, and Sahin Huseynli. The crew also featured producer Afag Yusifli, director of photography Orkhan Adigozalov, make-up artist Khanlar Hashimzadeh, and set designers Vugar Aghabalayev and Anar Agabalayev, administrator Rashid Mirizadeh.
