A NEW SECRETARY OF AUF HAMIDA OMAROVA

A member of the Board Hamida Omarova was elected Secretary of the AUF at the meeting of the Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers on May 19, 2021.

The main reason for the Union to take such a step is to get acquainted with the problems of film actors and to take initiatives on solutions. One of the initiatives of the Union is the establishment of the “Theater for Film Actors “. The AUF intends to realize this work together with the Film Actors Guild of Azerbaijan, chaired by Hamida Omarova.

It should be noted that the main purpose of the project “Theater for Film Actors” is not be only to increase the level of professionalism of actors, as well as to eliminate the unemployment problems of the actors` new generation.

NOTE: Hamida Omarova studied acting at the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography). In addition to filming, she has actively participated in the dubbing of more than 500 feature films. She is the author of the textbooks “American Cinema: 1895-1945”, “History of American Cinema”. She is the People’s Artist of the Republic, Professor of Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts.
