Increasing the number of national films audience is one of the strategic goals of Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers. To that end, screenings of new and classic Azerbaijani films are organized. AUF holds a series of events to familiarize the regional audience with new Azerbaijani films.
In previous years, screenings under the title of “Cinema Days in the South” were organized in Lankaran, Bilasuvar, and Lerik districts. “Shirvan Cinema Days” project will have its opening in July of this year. In the program to be held in the first half of July, Ilgar Najaf’s “Sughra and Sons”, Elvin Mirzayev’s “ A slave”, Gulu Asgarov’s “I am here, God!” feature films and short films by Amil Amal, Shirin Ahmadov, Elvin Ashirov, Parviz Hasanov, and Intigam Hajili will be shown. Screenings will take place in Shirvan, Neftchala, Salyan, Hajigabul and Bilasuvar.
The lack of cinemas in all regions leads to a decrease in the number of new Azerbaijani films viewers. Therefore, AUF will also continue its aforementioned program in the districts in the future.
