The films presented under the title “Our grandkid and home” are the story of the authors’ journey to the past and the search for paradise.

The protagonist of “Moon without a house” is the author herself. After a long break, she returns to the mountains where she spent her childhood and looks for her traces.
We learn that the “god of heaven” is actually an illusion by virtue of the grandmother’s memories for her life-long partner – admonishing memories hidden in love in Leilakhanim Qanbarli’s film. It is visually approached in a home video (VHS) style.
Atanur Nabiyeva’s film-essay is a synthesis of memory and reality. A stone quarry has been built in the pined paradise – Mount Avey (Gazakh district), where the author spent her childhood. The mountain is rubbed by human hands every day and slowly becomes the inhabitant of dreams and memories. By tying dream, memory and reality together, the author tries to revive her paradise in one hand and draw attention to an important environmental problem on the other hand.
After the screening, a discussion took place, traditionally with the participation of the authors. The audience questions were mainly on the production process, the working techniques of the authors, the documentary film script, visual solutions in documentary, and the effect of the low budget on the aesthetics of the film and etc.
It is worthy of note that both films are independent work and were made with the support of the “ChaiKhana” media platform (producer Durna Safarova).
