AZERBAIJAN UNION OF FILMMAKERS AS A PARTNER OF 6TH DOKUBAKU FESTIVAL

VI DokuBaku International Documentary Film Festival, of which AUF is one of the partners, will be held in Baku on September 21-25, 2022. This year’s theme is “Revolution Against Evolution” (Re≈MC2VOLUTiON/OFF). This choice is explained by the fact that mankind no longer relies on evolution.

It should be noted that DokuBaku IDFF has already finalized the selection process. Thus, 68 documentaries from 32 different countries have been selected and all films will be screened in 7 categories.

13 films in the Best Documentary, 18 in the No-Main Competition and 19 in the Best Foreign and Local Short Documentary nominations will be evaluated by the jury. The winners will be announced on the last day of the festival, September 25.

Each year, the festival organizes series of film screenings by a world-renowned documentary filmmaker. This year a special guest-Sergez Dvortsevoy`s retrospective of 4 films will be organized whose feature film “Tulpan” was Kazakhstan`s 2009 Academy Awards official submission to Foreign Language Film Category.

The 6th edition comes with two new categories. For the first time in the history of the festival, documentaries for children were included in the program too. In addition, DokuBaku will support Ukrainian filmmakers by screening documentaries from Ukraine. The schedule of the venues, dates, and times will be announced soon.
