Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers has provided financial support for young director Alemdar Faig’s feature-length documentary project “Hope will carry us” enabling its participation in the CEDOC Market.
CEDOC Market – the Central European Documentary Co-Production Market – is a prominent industry event that brings together international documentary filmmakers. Its primary aim is to foster creative partnerships between East and West, North and South, with a particular focus on projects and talents from Central Europe.
Synopsis of the film:
One day, Coshgun Eldaroghlu happens to travel through the village of Qazbabalı in the Shabran district. There, he discovers that the local school only provides education up to the fourth grade, and the nearest school is located in a neighboring village, accessible only via a dangerous forest path. Due to the village’s socio-economic hardships, many parents keep their children out of school. Moved by the situation, he decides to stay and teach in the village.
