10th Bayqonur International Film Festival, held from September 20–26, comprises four categories: Best Feature Debut Film, Best International Film, Best Local Film (Kazakhstan), and NETPAC award. Throughout the festival, masterclasses, panel sessions, book presentations, and discussions are held daily.
Afag Yusifli, the Azerbaijan Filmmakers Union’s specialist for international relations participated as a member of the NETPAC jury. During the festival, book presentations were held for Gulnara Abikeyeva’s “Contemporary Kazakh Cinema” and Aida Mashurova’s “The representation of Women in Kazakh and Central Asian films.”
Notably, the jury for the Best Feature Debut Film category included Aygun Aslanli, deputy chair of the Azerbaijan Guild of Film Critics and Film scholars, and a prominent film critic. As part of the festival, panel sessions were held with filmmakers, producers, and critics from CIS countries. During one such session, Aygun Aslanli delivered a presentation on “Women in documentary cinema.”
