The Vietnam Cinema Association awards, also known as the “Kite” or “Golden Kite” awards, have been held annually since 2003. This award remains the most prestigious film and television accolade in Vietnam. The event attracted up to 1,000 guests from cinema centers, TV channels, and studios across the country. The Azerbaijani delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Hum Tu, the aforementioned association.
This year, as part of a collaborative effort between Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Vietnam, and the Vietnam Cinema Association, an Azerbaijani film delegation is on official visit to Nha Trang, Vietnam, from September 9 to 14. This visit marks the first initiative aimed at strengthening cinema relations between Vietnam and Azerbaijan. Representers of Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers are Honored Artist Gulzar Gurbanova and Honored Artist Javanshir Hadiyev. During their visit, they will meet with prominent Vietnamese film industry figures and engage in discussions to enhance Azerbaijan-Vietnam film relations. According to the information by delegation, Vietnam is well-informed about Azerbaijan.
September 10, 2024, marks the official start of the visit. It is noteworthy that at this prestigious event, considered one of the country’s most significant, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Shovgi Mehdizadeh, is also a part of the delegation. The team members will walk the red carpet and participate in the festival’s award ceremony today.
