On November 25th, a presentation ceremony was held at the Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers for “Those who sing in the ashes” directed by Kamran Gasimov — member of the AUF Board, film director, and journalist. The film focuses on the devastating wildfires that occurred in Southern California earlier this January.
The film was produced using reports from the Real television channel (authored by Kamran Gasimov), materials from Fox Television, as well as footage from the author`s personal archive. With a running time of 28 minutes, the documentary captures the wildfires that occurred in Los Angeles County and their devastating consequences.
Prior to the screening, which was moderated by film critic Sevda Sultanova, director spoke about the fires he personally witnessed in January of this year and expressed his gratitude to those who attended. The film features interviews with people affected by the fires, firefighters, and the Mayor of Los Angeles.
Following the screening, members of parliament, filmmakers, and public figures shared their feedback on the film.
Notably, Kamran Gasimov was the only Azerbaijani journalist to report on the wildfires in Los Angeles.
