On October 20th, a meeting was held at the AUF cinema hall with renowned Polish-German director Izabela Plucińska, a winner of the Silver Bear award at the Berlin International Film Festival and a prominent figure in clay animation. The event was jointly organized by the Azerbaijan Animation Association and Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers.
Opening the event with a welcoming speech, the head of the Azerbaijan Animation Association, Rashid Agamaliyev, greeted the guests and introduced Izabela Plucińska to the audience.
Later, the director’s films, which have achieved success at various international festivals, was screened.
Following the screening, Izabela Plucińska shared insights into her creative process, accompanied by behind-the-scenes footage featuring her team. She spoke about her own artistic style, how she brings her characters to life, and the distinctive aspects of working with clay animation.
Plucińska also revealed that she is currently working on an animation film supported by Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, built around a synthesis of Azerbaijani ashig music and modern musical elements. The project, a joint collaboration between Azerbaijan, Germany, and Poland, is produced by by Rashid Agamaliyev and composition by Azer Hajiasgarli.
