Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers implemented “Film production from A to Z” directing workshop for young filmmakers as well as “Profession: Screenwriter” Screenwriting Workshop for Female Authors” together with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation both in Baku and Shaki cities during 2022.

In addition, a 3-month course “Young Filmmakers” project was held for candidates who are new in screenwriting and directing together with “ASAN Volunteers” organization.

According to Afag Yusifli, a project and international relations manager of AUF, the Union`s intensive courses play a significant role in its field of study and activity. In addition to the two-year courses at Cinema School of Union under the leadership of AUF Secretary Oleg Safaraliyev, the intensive courses demonstrated their effectiveness too. As a union, we continue to work on projects in this format, and we are also thinking on inviting foreign mentors. I call my colleagues to be interactive and enterprising with the Union in this direction. AUF interested in organizing courses in areas of greater need in the field of cinema. As a union, we are interested in organizing courses in the fields of cinema where there is a greater need.

It should be noted that the trainer of the courses “Film production from A to Z” and “Profession: Screenwriter”   Screenwriting Workshop for Female Authors” has been Honored Art Worker, director Mirbala Salimli, and screenwriter and director Javid Zaidov respectively.

We are ready to deepen our cooperation with international funds and organizations.

The Union also plans to implement intensive courses in 2023.
