The selection of participants for the international project “AKIDocs – Documentary Film Development and Pitching”, announced by the Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers in early April, has been completed, and the training sessions officially kicked off today.
The first day of the training, led by documentary film expert Tue Steen Müller, served as an introduction to the participants and their projects. After presenting the films they intend to make, participants shared their ideas and perspectives on documentary cinema. T.S. Müller then spoke about the pitching process on international platforms, the essential materials needed for a pitch, and how to properly prepare projects for pitching.
The “AKIDocs – Documentary Film Development and Pitching” training will run until April 29. In the coming days, participants will engage in one-on-one sessions focused on project development and preparing for pitching.
At the end of the training, participants with developed loglines and synopses will present their projects to a jury panel and compete for a cash prize.
Tue Steen Müller, the trainer of the international project “AKIDocs – Documentary Development and Pitching International Program” worked for over 20 years as a short and documentary film expert at the Danish Film Board.
