Increasing the audience for national films is one of the strategic goals of AUF. To this end, screenings of both new and classic Azerbaijani films are organized. The Union conducts a series of events to introduce contemporary Azerbaijani cinema to audiences in districts.
The Union’s film days project in the regions is restarting this year. This time, the designated location is the Aran zone. Screenings, scheduled between April 16 and 30, will cover the districts of Zardab, Ujar, Goychay, Yevlakh, and Agdash. Audiences will be presented with examples of modern Azerbaijani cinema — including short and feature-length fiction films such as Actor (dir. Aydin Arslan), The little (dir. Ruslan Agazadeh), Monologue of a lonely man (dir. Emin Afandiyev), Chairs (dir. Orkhan Agazadeh), Gukhuroba (dir. Teymur Gambarov), and May your home be prosperous (dir. Mirsadig Agazadeh). The list also includes short animation films Sewer and Dreams… dreams by Vahid Talibov, Dedication by Shamil Najafzadeh, Mirror by Elchin Hami Akhundov, and short documentaries Childhood Photo by Parviz Hasanov and Forgotten Dreams by Aynur Kazimova.
In keeping with tradition, discussions with the film crew and film critic Aygun Aslanli will be held following the screenings.
