THE WINNERS OF BAKU INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL WAS ANNOUNCED.

XIII Baku International Short Film Festival closing and awarding ceremony was held.

814 films from 79 countries such as Germany, France, Spain, Turkey, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Luxembourg, Ukraine, Egypt, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, South Korea participated in this year festival. 91 of those films were submitted for local competition. According to the decision of the selection commission, 32 international and 40 local films won the right to participate in the categories of the festival respectively.

Films screened under international, “Asian Talents” and local competition program.

BISFF was organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan which was founded by Young Filmmakers Center. The local winners are announced in the following nominations:

 

  • “Best fiction film” – “The hence” ( directed by by Gulu Asgarov)
  • “Best screenwriter” “The last photo” ( written and directed by Turkan Huseyn)
  • “Best director” – “Last autumn” ( written and directed by Rustam Babazadeh)
  • “Best documentary”- “Since the Dust Settles” ( directed by Toghrul Abbasov)
  • “Best student work” “Motivator” (directed by Kamal Mushfig)
  • “Best social issue Ads” “His camera” ( directed by Boyukagha Aliyev)

 

Directors Amil Amal, Elnur Pasha, Javad Nur, Ruslan Mollayev were awarded with “Special Jury Diploma” and Saddam Mehdiyev and Murad Huseynov “Special Jury Award” respectively. It should be noted that, “Examine” by Ruslan Mollayev who is the alumni of Film School under AUF was produced but “A home on the volcano” by Amil Amal was given financial support by Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers. Additionally, Nijat Dadashov (a screenwriter of “The Hence”), Turkan Huseyn (director and screenwriter of “The last Photo”) and Elnur Pasha (a director of “Lonely grave”) are also the graduates of Film School under AUF.
