The Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers has embarked on a collaborative venture with the Alpavirama International Youth Film Festival. This partnership marks a significant milestone, as it will culminate in the inaugural presentation of short films by four emerging directors to Indian audiences in the “Special Package” in Ahmedabad, India. We are pleased to announce the films selected by the festival jury for this screening.
1. Ulviyya Ahmedova – “I was a kid” (documentary)
2. Aynur Kazımova – “Forgotten dreams” – (documentary)
3. Turkan Huseyn – “Last photo” – (fiction)
4. Ruslan Mollayev – “The test” – (fiction)
In its seventh iteration, the festival proudly features two distinct special screening programs this year: one dedicated to AUF and the other University of São Paulo in Brazil.
Alpavirama, derived from the Sanskrit word for “comma,” is an International Youth Film Festival organized by the Department of Film and Video Communication at the National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad, India, since 2011. The seventh edition of the festival is scheduled to unfold from October 15 to 19. This year, the festival has embraced the compelling theme of “Reflected Realities,” inviting audiences to explore the multifaceted portrait of reality through the lenses of young filmmakers.
